The atmosphere will be electric this weekend at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium for the matchup at home in Austin between No. 2 Texas football and the UTSA Roadrunners on Sep. 14. Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian returns home this weekend for their first game since handily defeating the defending National Champion Michigan Wolverines at the Big House in Week 2.

Texas football to host a sizable group of visiting recruits for the UTSA game in Week 3

Sarkisian and the Longhorns came up with maybe the most impressive victory of the season in college football for 2024 thus far, defeating Michigan by a commanding score of 31-12 last weekend.

After Texas had a handful of key 2025 and 2026 visiting recruits on campus for the season-opening win over the Colorado State Rams at DKR two weekends ago, this will be the biggest visit weekend of the season thus far.

Texas is set to host some key 2025 and 2026 recruits who are currently uncommitted for the UTSA game in primetime on Saturday night at DKR. It is a great time for the Longhorns to host some key blue-chip recruits from the 2025 and 2026 classes, along with current commitments for those two cycles on the trail this weekend.

Here are five key visiting recruits to watch for the Longhorns game at DKR this weekend against UTSA in Week 3.

Elijah Barnes, LB (Texas commit)

Among the many Texas commitments in the 2025 class returning to the Forty Acres this weekend to visit DKR for the UTSA game is the touted four-star Dallas (TX) Skyline linebacker Elijah "Bo" Barnes. Other Texas commitments in the 2025 class visiting this weekend for the UTSA game includes four-star tight end Nick Townsend, four-star running back James Simon, and three-star cornerback Caleb Chester.

Barnes specifically is making his first visit unofficially to Texas since he took an unofficial gameday visit up to Eugene a couple of weeks ago to see the Oregon Ducks host the Idaho Vandals for their season opener at Autzen Stadium in Week 1.

While Barnes was open about making the trip up to Eugene in early September, it's still notable that he's reaffirmed his commitment to the Longhorns since. Barnes has been one of the more active and engaged commitments for the Longhorns in the 2025 class who has been outspoken with helping them recruit other top targets on the trail to Texas.
