The final big Texas football recruiting event of the offseason was held yesterday for the late July pool party/BBQ bash. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian hosted over two dozen visiting recruits for the late July pool party/BBQ bash recruiting event, which was the final major visit event before the 2024 season kicks off next month.

Texas football has another successful late July BBQ recruiting event

Texas made the most of this recruiting event, including hosting a handful of surprise visitors from the 2025 and 2026 classes. Among the surprise visitors who visited Texas unofficially for the bash on July 25 was the big flip that this staff pulled off yesterday.

Four-star Folsom (CA) defensive lineman Josiah Sharma flipped his commitment from the Oregon Ducks to the Longhorns after he showed up on campus as a late addition to the visitor list. Sharma and Saraland (AL) four-star defensive lineman/Alabama Crimson Tide commit Antonio Coleman were the two surprise DT visitors from the 2025 class who showed up on Thursday on campus.

The dominos that fall on the recruiting trail from the Texas bash for the 2025, 2026, and 2027 classes could all be sizable for the Longhorns late this summer and during the fall.

Here are five key visiting recruits from the 2025 and 2026 classes who were impressed by the Texas bash on July 25.

Tiki Hola, DL

One of Texas's top in-state priorities along the defensive line in the 2026 class is Bastrop (TX) four-star Tiki Hola. The 6-foot-2 and 285-pound defensive tackle made his second trip to Texas since the spring for the pool party/BBQ bash this week.

Defensive line coach Kenny Baker has built a great relationship with Hola, since he was one of the first DL recruits he prioritized in the 2026 class after he was hired at Texas early this offseason.

Hola told On Texas Football that he had another good experience at Texas for the pool party/BBQ bash on Thursday. He spent time with Baker and co-DC Johnny Nansen, and enjoyed getting to see the Texas practice session during his trip to Austin yesterday.

Continue to watch this recruitment as Hola is one of the in-state guys Baker and the Longhorns really like among the top DLs in the class of 2026 early on.
