Dakorien Moore, WR

The headlining official visitor for the Longhorns this weekend was the No. 1 wide receiver recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking, five-star Dakorien Moore. The elite wideout from Duncanville (TX) High School made his highly anticipated official visit to Texas this weekend after taking visits to see the Ohio State Buckeyes and LSU in the last few weeks.

Word on the street is that Sarkisian and staff gave Moore the priority treatment during his official visit in the last couple of days. Moore was hosted by freshman Texas edge rusher and his former Duncanville teammate Colin Simmons.

Texas had all hands on deck, helping to recruit Moore including current players, the coaches, and commitments in the 2025 class this weekend. Arch Manning even re-posted Moore on IG in the Texas gear during his official visit.

It sounds like Texas did as good as you could hope for with Moore during this incredibly important official visit. If nothing else, I think Texas easily solidified its lead in the race to land Moore's commitment this summer.

Kelshaun Johnson, WR

One of the many blue-chip wide receiver recruits officially visiting Texas this weekend was the speedy Hitchcock (TX) four-star Kelshaun Johnson. The elusive 5-foot-11 and 165-pound wideout from the Houston area made his third visit to Texas in as many months for his official in the last couple of days.

Texas needed to make a huge impression on Johnson to swing momentum back in its favor in this recruitment after he had a successful official trip to College Station last weekend to see the Texas A&M Aggies. Many considered Texas A&M to be the leader for Johnson among his top schools after the Aggies did a great job pitching him immediate playing time if he goes to College Station.

Johnson told Inside Texas on June 16 (paid content) that the Texas official visit was "a great trip". It sounds like Johnson's decision is likely to come down to a class in-state battle on the recruiting trail between Texas and Texas A&M.

It wouldn't be surprising if there is a decision coming from Johnson within the next few weeks, especially if he doesn't make it to his official visit next weekend to see the USC Trojans.
