5 key recruits Texas impressed in final June visit weekend
The final big June official visit weekend for the 2025 class is wrapping up for Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian on the afternoon of June 23. Over the last couple of days, Texas hosted nearly 20 official visitors from the 2025 class, including multiple five-star recruits for this cycle.
Summer official visits wrap up for Texas football on June 23
This sounds like another successful official visit weekend for Sarkisian and staff after really impressing the uncommitted recruits who were on campus since Friday. Texas also did well with multiple commitments who were on campus for their official visits this weekend.
Texas locked in commitments from key blue-chips in the 2025 class like four-star Calhoun (GA) tight end Emaree Winston and four-star Shreveport (LA) Calvary Baptist running back James Simon. These committed recruits to the Longhorns in the 2025 class also helped to recruit other big names on campus for official visits in the past 48 hours.
It wouldn't surprise me to see at least a handful of this weekend's official visitors announce for Texas in the coming days and weeks. Here are five key June 21-23 official visitors who were impressed by the experience at Texas.
Michael Fasusi, OT
Arguably the most important official visitor on campus this weekend for the Longhorns from the 2025 class was the elite five-star Lewisville (TX) offensive tackle Michael Fasusi. The No. 1 ranked offensive line recruit in Texas in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking got the priority treatment from Sarkisian and Kyle Flood this weekend.
On Saturday, a video that Fasusi posted on social media with him in the car with Sarkisian, with both of them holding up the Hook'em, made its rounds among the Texas faithful.
Fasusi not only spent time one-on-one with Sarkisian, but also got a lot of focus from Flood during his official visit.
It sounds like Fasusi's official visit to Texas this weekend went extremely well. It wouldn't surprise me if Texas cemented its lead among Fasusi's top group of schools after the successful official visit to Austin in the last couple of days.
Texas continues to battle the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas A&M Aggies in this recruitment after Fasusi's summer official visits wrapped up this weekend.
If Texas can convince Fasusi that Austin and the Longhorns are the right place for him to develop as a player on the field and with his education and experience off the field, I could see him ending up as the marquee OL commitments in the 2025 class in the near future.
