5 key recruits Texas impressed in final June visit weekend
Madden Fairamo, LB
Some might be pretty shocked by seeing the highly touted four-star San Diego (CA) J Serra Catholic linebacker Madden Fairamo on this list given that it didn't seem like Texas had a great shot to get his commitment entering the weekend.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were assumed to have a big lead in the race to land Fairamo's commitment, especially after he took a successful official visit to South Bend a couple of weekends ago. But Texas did about everything they could, and a little bit more, to make a huge impression on Fairamo in the last 48 hours.
Inside Texas reported on June 23 (paid content) that Texas and Johnny Nansen were able to make things pretty interesting with Notre Dame in this recruitment.
Fairamo told reporters after the official visit concluded on Sunday that he loved the experience at Texas this weekend. He specifically stated that "as a football player, how can you not choose Texas"?
This recruitment has the makings of one that Nansen and the Longhorns will fight through the finish line on signing day for Fairamo.
Aidan Anding, CB
Texas has made the underrated three-star Ruston (LA) cornerback Aidan Anding a key out-of-state priority recruit in the secondary for the 2025 class since the spring. The Longhorns really went all out to impress Anding when he initially visited Texas during spring practice back in April.
The early returns from this official visit for Anding are almost as positive, if not even better than what we heard coming out of his unofficial trip a couple of months ago during the spring. On Texas Football's Gerry Hamilton reported that Anding gave the Longhorns official visit a "10 out of 10".
In fact, it sounds like this visit went so well that Anding has a decision date in mind in the next week or so. At the moment, it would surprise me if Anding doesn't pick Texas before the July 4 holiday in a couple of weeks.
