Dakorien Moore, WR

The nation's No. 1 wide receiver recruit in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking, Duncanville (TX) five-star Dakorien Moore, is the headlining official visitor for Texas this weekend. Fresh off official visits to Columbus to see Ohio State and Baton rouge to see LSU in the last two weekends, Texas is looking to solidify its lead with the top prize recruit at receiver in this cycle.

Texas entered Moore's summer official visits with at least a slight lead over the Oregon Ducks in second place among his top four schools. Ohio State did make an impression on Moore, but it didn't feel like it was enough to close the gap on Texas's lead or even Oregon in second place.

Horns247 reports that Texas is still anticipated to be the destination for Moore when it's all said and done for his recruiting process. He is reportedly likely to be hosted b freshman edge rusher and former five-star recruit Colin Simmons during his official visit to the 40 this weekend, as the two were teammates at Duncanville for the last few years.

Nick Brooks, OT

The enormous 6-foot-7 and 345-pound Cedar Rapids (IA) John F. Kennedy four-star offensive tackle Nick Brooks is one of the more underrated official visitors making their way to Texas for this weekend. Brooks, a former Iowa Hawkeyes commit, is making his first return trip to Texas since he visited unofficially for the spring game on April 20.

Flood and the Longhorns impressed Brooks during his trip to Austin for the spring game a couple of months ago.

Texas is in the top group of schools for Brooks amid his summer official visits, along with the Georgia Bulldogs, Iowa, and USC. He's already taken official visits to Georgia (May 31) and USC (June 7). Georgia reportedly garnered significant buzz in Brooks' recruitment following his official visit to Athens two weekends ago.

If the Longhorns can close the gap on Georgia, I think they can be a legitimate threat to land Brooks. But this will be an uphill battle with Brooks scheduled to officially visit the school he was once committed to last fall, Iowa, next weekend.
