5-Star Jonah Williams visiting Texas next week
The annual late July pool party/BBQ recruiting event for Texas football is set for July 25. Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian will host multiple important recruits from the 2025, 2026, and 2027 classes during the pool party event in the middle of next week.
Texas football gets its shot to host 5-Star ATH Jonah Williams for a late-July unofficial visit
A huge recent addition to the visitor list for the pool party/BBQ on July 25 is the elite five-star Galveston (TX) Ball athlete Jonah Williams. Multiple outlets (including Inside Texas) reported the news this weekend that Williams is scheduled to visit Austin unofficially on July 25.
This will be Williams' first time back in Austin for an unofficial visit since he was on campus during spring practice a few months ago.
Williams didn't include Texas with the list of leading contenders among his top schools that he stated back in the spring. The schools Williams said were at the top of the list for him back in May were the Oregon Ducks, Texas A&M Aggies, and LSU Tigers.
Texas has been in more regular communication with Williams since the hire of new head baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle. The jolt to the baseball program since the hiring of Schloss has been helping the Longhorns in this recruitment because Williams is a two-sport athlete playing baseball and football.
Williams is considering playing both sports in college, and he is considered one of the top high school baseball athletes in the country in the class of 2025.
Texas also sees Williams as one of the top safety recruits in the nation for this cycle. Blake Gideon and the Longhorns have stayed in steady pursuit of Williams, despite him not taking an official visit to Texas this summer.
