5-Star LSU commit Dakorien Moore visiting Texas this spring
The top flip target for Texas football in the 2025 recruiting class entering the spring is the elite five-star Duncanville wide receiver, and LSU Tigers commit Dakorien Moore. Texas continues to plug away in this recruitment, as UT and the Oregon Ducks currently present the biggest competition on the recruiting trail for LSU to keep Moore's commitment firm.
Texas football hosting 5-Star LSU WR commit Dakorien Moore for a spring game visit
There was some big news for the Longhorns in this recruitment this weekend regarding Moore's visit schedule. Inside Texas reported on March 10 that Moore will visit Texas for the Orange-White spring football game at DKR on April 20.
This will be Moore's first visit to Texas since the start of the 2024 offseason. The last time he visited Austin was for a gameday early last fall at DKR.
Moore also reportedly plans to officially visit Texas. He told IT/On3 that he plans to officially visit the Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon, LSU, and Texas.
This spring, Moore is set to visit LSU, Texas, and Ohio State. Up next is a visit to Columbus to see the Buckeyes on March 18. He will then visit LSU (April 13) and Texas (April 20) for each respective spring game next month.
The official visits are likely to be scheduled once Moore concludes his spring trips in the next couple of months.
Texas working to chip away at Moore's commitment to LSU
When Moore committed to LSU late last summer, he picked the Tigers over the Longhorns. Texas has continued to remain firmly in the mix among the schools that have made big pushes for Moore on the recruiting trail early this offseason.
Texas will get multiple opportunities to swing momentum in its favor in this recruitment. But it seems like LSU holds the momentum with Moore entering spring practice after he had a very successful unofficial trip to Baton Rouge last week.
Family atmosphere and Duncanville connections helping Texas in this recruitment
The Longhorns have multiple of Moore's former teammates at Duncanville in the locker room this spring. Former Duncanville blue-chip prospects, defensive tackle Alex January and edge rusher Colin Simmons highlight just a few of the South Dallas players in Texas's locker room this offseason.
