The Longhorns have played against the Sooners more times than any other team in the nation (119 games).

Texas has eked out a winning record over Oklahoma, currently holding 63 wins over the Sooners' heads and OU can only lay claim to 51 victories.

The Red River Rivalry is one of the greatest rivalries in sports, much less college football, but it doesn't have to be a conference rivalry.

If the Sooners had stayed behind in the Big 12, or even joined a different conference than the SEC, then Texas' road to the conference title would be endlessly easier.
