Silas Bolden, WR

What's turning out to be one of the most important portal additions on either side of the ball for the Longhorns this offseason is former Oregon State Beavers senior grad transfer wide receiver Silas Bolden. He's been a big playmaker for the Longhorns on offense and for the special teams return unit this fall camp.

OTF's Gerry Hamilton compared Bolden to former Texas basketball standout and 2022-23 Sixth Man of the Year in college hoops, Sir'Jabari Rice, regarding his winning mentality and how good of a teammate he is for the Longhorns. Bolden brings that sort of proven experience, versatility, and "winning mindset" that the Longhorns need in the receiving corps this year.

Bolden's speed and elusiveness out in space are the strengths in his game that will make it extremely difficult for the coaching staff and Sarkisian to keep him off the field this season on offense and special teams in the return game.

Sophomore cornerback Malik Muhammad complimented Bolden for his speed and ability to make defenders miss out in space in preseason camp during player media availability this week.

"You better not miss, he’s got jets."

Bolden has shown this fall camp that he's just too good for the Longhorns not to get him frequent targets in the passing game and in other creative ways in the screen and jet sweep motion game this season. It's definitely not out of the realm of possibility that Bolden is one of the starting three receivers for the Longhorns offense entering Week 1.
