Adonai Mitchell runs blazing fast 40-yard dash at NFL Combine
On the third day of the 2024 NFL Combine, a few skill position Texas football players participated in testing, including junior wide receiver Adonai Mitchell. The All-Big 12 wideout Mitchell posted one of the most eye-popping event times at the NFL Combine on March 2 with his 40-yard dash time.
Mitchell posted a blazing fast 4.35 second unofficial 40-yard dash time on his first attempt.
Texas football WR Adonai Mitchell runs a lightning fast 40-time at the NFL Combine
According to the combine tracker, Mitchell currently has the fastest 40-yard dash time of all the wideouts that have tested in the event at the combine this week. Mitchell is less than 0.1 seconds from the pace-setter in the 40-yard dash, which belongs to Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins, who ran an insane 4.28-second official time earlier this week.
Roughly half of the wideouts participating in the combine still have not yet tested in the 40-yard dash time at the combine.
This 40-yard dash time is sure to boost Mitchell's NFL Draft stock. Entering the combine, he was viewed as a potential late first or second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
But this 40-yard dash time could solidify his status as a Day 1 pick at the very least.
Texas skill players impress in the 40-yard dash
Mitchell is not the only Longhorn competing in the combine that impressed with their 40-yard dash time this week. Texas defensive tackle Byron Murphy II posted an official 4.87-second 40-yard dash on the first day of the combine.
Running back Keilan Robinson also had one of the fastest times among players in his position group, running a 4.42-second 40 time on March 1.
Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy is also participating in the 40-yard dash. He is expected to be one of the fastest times among wideouts in the 40 event.
