Per On Texas Football's CJ Vogel on Aug. 12, Texas football true freshman running back Christian Clark suffered a non-contact lower-body injury during Monday's fall practice. Clark reportedly was trying to go up and catch a ball in team drills on a route out of the backfield and came down awkwardly when he landed.

Vogel said Clark needed assistance getting off the field after coming down awkwardly in practice today.

The report of Clark's injury has been confirmed by other sources and reports from other outlets on the evening/night of Aug. 12.

The status of Clark's injury is unknown beyond what has initially been reported regarding the actual play he suffered the lower-body injury on in practice today.

Texas is now down to three scholarship running backs who are fully healthy on the roster this fall camp after the injuries to Clark and sophomore CJ Baxter Jr. Baxter tore his LCL and PCL in fall practice last week, causing him to miss the entire 2024 season.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian talked about the situation at running back and looking at the possibility of moving other players over from other positions to fill the need in the backfield about halfway through fall practice.

"A couple of guys on the offensive side of the ball, a potential player on the defensive side of the ball, or two, for that matter."

Sarkisian and Tashard Choice already moved second-year linebacker Derion Gullette to take snaps on both sides of the ball in the first scrimmage of preseason camp last weekend. It appears the coaching staff was already searching for another possible position change for a player at another position group for the Longhorns when Sarkisian took to the podium for his press conference today.
