The NCAA Transfer Portal opened for the first window ahead of the 2024 offseason on March 18, which meant that head coach Rodney Terry and Texas basketball are able to scout early targets at positions of need in the rotation this week.

Among the biggest names that is expected to be in the transfer portal entering this upcoming offseason is the former Stanford Cardinal freshman wing Andrej Stojakovic. The son of former NBA sharpshooting forward Peja Stojakovic, Andrej is reportedly expected to enter the transfer portal in this first window following the conclusion of the 2023-24 regular season.

Former Texas basketball F recruiting target Andrej Stojakovic is expected to enter the portal

247Sports first reported that Stojakovic is expected to enter the transfer portal this offseason. Stojakovic will have three years of eligibility remaining after playing one season at Stanford during his true freshman campaign in 2023-24.

This is an interesting name to emerge in the transfer portal for Terry and the Longhorns entering the offseason. Texas loses some key players in the wing/forward rotation from this season's squad next offseason, including senior forward Brock Cunningham and senior wing Ithiel Horton.

The Longhorns do have some talented two-guards/wings in the 2024 signing class arriving on campus this summer. But Texas needs more proven wings with experience at the collegiate level in the power conferences to bolster that part of the rotation for next season.

Stojakovic makes sense for the Longhorns as a possible portal target because he can add a viable starter and some real scoring punch on the wing. The 6-foot-7, 190-pound wing is a natural scorer with a natural shooting stroke and the length to finish through contact at the rim.

Another connection between Stojakovic and the Longhorns stems from his recruitment out of high school in the 2023 class. Stojakovic chose Stanford over the Longhorns, Oregon Ducks, and UCLA Bruins.

He's got a relationship with Terry and a few other Texas coaches on this staff from when they recruited him a couple of years ago.

There is still a lot of time for Terry and the Longhorns staff to figure out their top portal needs entering the offseason. But Stojakovic is surely a name to watch given his past connections to Texas and the need for the Longhorns to add a lengthy wing scorer entering next season.

Stojakovic is reportedly expected to enter the portal after the departure of Stanford head coach Jerod Haase following the 2023-24 season. He averaged 7.8 points per game, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists over 10 starts and 32 games played during the 2023-24 regular season for the Cardinal.
