Two stars of the Texas Longhorns are officially heading to the pros after devastatingly going unselected during the 2024 NBA Draft.

Center Dylan Disu, who battled injuries throughout his final year with the Horns, signed a free-agency contract with the Toronto Raptors.

Point guard Max Abmas, who stole the show as the 2023-24 season progressed, signed a contract with the Utah Jazz just a few hours before his teammate.

Disu averaged 15.5 points per game, shooting an impressive 46.5 percent from the field. He also contributed 5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per appearance.

The Longhorn’s final collegiate season was by far his best as Disu averaged 0.5 more points per game than he had in any other year.

Concerns regarding his physical health most likely affected his draft stock but his ability to make a difference as soon as he steps on the court will shine brightly as the NBA Summer League unfolds.

Abmas transferred to Texas in 2023 after starting his collegiate career with four seasons at Oral Roberts.

The guard shined brightly for the Horns, started in all 34 games that he played, and averaged an impressive 16.8 points per game.

At just 6-foot-0, Abmas is undersized for a guard in the NBA, however, his ballhandling skills and court vision should help him earn a permanent spot in the league.

Both players contributed huge pieces to the Longhorns last season, and Disu did so for three years straight. While neither was regarded as a big-time prospect heading into the draft, they now have the greatest opportunity to prove everyone wrong.
