Action on the recruiting trail is going to heat up for Texas basketball and head coach Rodney Terry entering late this summer and the early fall. Texas has set official visit dates with multiple elite 2025 offers on the recruiting trail this summer.

The list of Texas's official visitors from in-state now includes the elite high-four-star Houston (TX) Link Academy big man John Clark, as originally reported by On3's Jamie Shaw on July 22. After transferring from Houston (TX) Klein Cain to Branson (MO) Link Academy for his senior season of high school hoops, Clark has reportedly set four official visits for either late August or early in the fall this year.

Texas is among the four schools Clark will officially visit in the next couple of months. He's also scheduled officials to see the Houston Cougars, Texas A&M, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He mentioned that the Houston official visit will be next month.

It also sounds like Clark would like to have his official visits wrapped up at least a few weeks before he's ready to make his decision before the Early Signing Period in November.

Texas has long been one of the contenders in consistent contact with Clark on the recruiting trail since his recruitment really started to heat up late last year. Terry and the Longhorns were one of the first major conference programs to offer Clark, which came in June of 2023.

Clark also visited Texas unofficially last fall amid the football regular season opener at DKR in early September.

Terry has done a great job building a fantastic relationship with Clark and his family. He reportedly talks to Clark often and has really appealed to the elite power forward from Houston with his pitch to him to play in his frontcourt system and with the ability to play for a talented team that's building well on the recruiting trail entering the SEC in 2024-25.
