A touted group of in-state visitors that Texas football has scheduled for the spring from the 2025 recruiting class added another big name this week. On3's Sam Spiegelman reported on Feb. 21 that the elite five-star Lewisville (TX) offensive tackle Michael Fasusi will visit Texas unofficially on April 9.

Texas is one of seven schools that Fasusi has locked in visit dates for this spring. He'll also visit the Mizzou Tigers (March 12 and 13), LSU Tigers (March 20), Texas A&M Aggies (March 30), Oregon Ducks (April 17 and 18), Oklahoma Sooners (April 25), and Colorado Buffaloes (April 27 and 28) during a busy spring schedule for the elite offensive tackle recruit from the DFW Metroplex.

Texas football sets spring visit date with 5-Star OT priority Michael Fasusi

The spring trip to Austin will be Fasusi's visit to Texas this offseason. It will also be his first time on campus since he made a gameday trip to see the Longhorns beat the Wyoming Cowboys at DKR last September.

Offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and head coach Steve Sarkisian have made multiple trips out to Lewisville to visit Fasusi and his family. Fasusi told Inside Texas (paid content) that Texas "et with my dad, so you know they're taking this serious".

It's not only important that the Longhorns connect with Fasusi in this recruitment, but they also must win over his father. It's been noted that the school that has the best relationship with Fasusi and his father will ultimately win this recruitment when he's ready to announce his decision closer to the start of his senior season this coming fall.

The strong relationship Flood and the Longhorns coaches have built with Fasusi and his family has consistently made them a factor in this recruitment. Flood and Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh have both done a great job building strong connections with Fasusi.

It wouldn't be surprising if this recruitment ultimately comes down to a classic Texas-Oklahoma battle on the trail.

Fasusi a top OL target for Flood and Texas in the 2025 class

Fasusi, the No. 2 offensive tackle recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking is arguably the Longhorns' top in-state offensive line priority in this cycle.

Flood and the Longhorns need to take advantage of a strong crop of in-state talent at offensive tackle in this recruiting cycle, making Fasusi's recruitment a pivotal one in this class. Texas has also zoned in on key offensive tackle targets in the 2025 class this offseason, such as Denton (TX) Guyer high-four-star Ty Haywood, SF (CA) St. Ignatius three-star John Mills, and Prosper (TX) four-star Connor Carty, among a few others.
