ESPN College GameDay will be at Texas vs. Michigan in Week 2
The set of ESPN College GameDay will be going up to Ann Arbor for Week 2 for the highly anticipated battle between the No. 9 Michigan Wolverines and No. 4 Texas football on Sep. 7 at the Big House.
Texas football vs. Michigan will be the site of ESPN's College GameDay for Week 2
It was announced on the College GameDay X account on the morning of Aug. 31 that Ann Arbor will be the site of their second stop for the set for the 2024 regular season in college football. This will be a high-stakes matchup that features the reigning National Champion against the defending Big 12 champs from last year, with the Longhorns entering their inaugural season in the SEC this fall.
Before Week 2 action gets underway, Michigan and Texas both have home games in Week 1 to play first against a couple of Mountain West Conference opponents.
Texas hosts the Colorado State Rams and head coach Jay Norvell at home at DKR in Austin on Aug. 31 to open up their inaugural campaign in the SEC in 2024.
Michigan, meanwhile, opens up its 2024 campaign under first-year head coach Sherrone Moore at home at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor against the Fresno State Bulldogs in primetime on Aug. 31.
This will be the 15th time that ESPN College GameDay brings its set to Ann Arbor for a Michigan game, which is tied for the third-most times hosting of any school in college football. The Ohio State Buckeyes have been the host of College GameDay the most times (23), followed by the Alabama Crimson Tide (18).
Last year, Texas and Michigan combined for five appearances on College GameDay. Texas had two appearances for College GameDay last season, including for the Red River Rivalry game against the Oklahoma Sooners and Week 2 in Tuscaloosa in a win over Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Texas is making its 23rd appearance all-time on College GameDay, which is now tied with the Auburn Tigers for the 15th most appearances of any school.
The kickoff time between Texas and Michigan in the Big House next weekend is 2:30 p.m. CT on Sep. 7.
