If Texas vs. Texas A&M isn’t a night game, Longhorn and Aggie fans will riot

The Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies are finally scheduled to play each other in football again, for the first time in over a decade.
On Tuesday, the SEC released the remaining 2024 schedule for all 16 teams in the conference, including the Thanksgiving game between the in-state rivals.
A new feature of the SEC football schedule is the undecided time slots for games that don’t have an exact kickoff time yet.
The SEC shared teams’ schedules that included ‘early,’ ‘afternoon,’ ‘night,’ and ‘flex’ as time slots when the games could start.
Currently, the Texas vs. Texas A&M matchup is listed as a FLEX game, which means kickoff could occur anytime between 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. CT.
Fans, on both sides of the aisle, will simply throw a fit if the reunion isn’t a night game.
Playing under the lights, and avoiding the Texas heat, help to add to the emotions between the two programs.
The last time the Aggies and Longhorns shared a field, Texas visited Kyle Field in College Station. The Horns walked away with a 27-25 win over Texas A&M following Justin Tucker's game-winning field goal.
Along with the Horns’ game against Texas A&M, Texas’ matchups against Kentucky and Georgia are listed as FLEX games.
The Longhorns’ games against Vanderbilt and Mississippi State are set to be afternoon games, which could start anytime between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. CT.
Luckily for both the team and the fans, Texas only has one morning game (11 a.m. CT) at home this year, when the Longhorns host the Florida Gators on November 9.
