Are you missing football? You don’t have to.

Texas Longhorn fans can see one of their favorite players take the field every weekend as former Horns linebacker Jeff McCulloch plays in the UFL.

The UFL is in its first-ever season, which started on March 30, after the XFL and USFL agreed to combine into a singular league.

There are eight teams in the UFL including the Birmingham Stallions, Houston Roughnecks, Memphis Showboats, and Michigan Panthers. The USFL Conference includes the Arlington Renegades, D.C. Defenders, San Antonio Brahmas, and St. Louis Battlenecks.

McCulloch is currently on the Memphis Showboats’ defensive roster. The Showboats are currently third in the USFL Conference with a 1-5 overall record.

The former Longhorn played for Texas from 2016-19 and amassed an incredible resume during his collegiate career.

Over four seasons, McCulloch had 92 total tackles, 4 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 interception.

After his impressive collegiate career, the linebacker was devastatingly undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft

Since joining the USFL, and subsequently being resigned by Memphis in the UFL, McCulloch has earned 21 tackles and 3 sacks.

So far this season, McCulloch has played in two games for the Showboats. He has earned 3 tackles, including 1 tackle for a 2-yard loss.

Memphis plays the Arlington Renegades on Saturday, May 11 for its next regular-season matchup. After the Showboats’ game against the Renegades, they have three games remaining for the year.
