In the Longhorns’ final season as a part of the Big 12, two Texas star athletes were nominated for the Big 12 Athletes of the Year awards.

Madisen Skinner, volleyball outside hitter, and Leo Neugebauer, decathlete, were both nominated for the highly esteemed reward after dominating their sports during the 2023-24 year.

Skinner wrapped up her senior season with a second consecutive national championship for the Longhorns, her third overall.

The outside hitter earned an astonishing 547 kills and was already named Player of the Year by Volleyball Mag.

Neugebauer, the German national record holder in the decathlon, also won his second consecutive national title in his event this spring.
