New 2026 Texas football QB offer 'raves' about AJ Milwee

The first two Texas football quarterback offers in the 2026 recruiting class this week. The two quarterbacks Texas offered in the 2026 class this week are Nashville Christian School (TN) five-star Jared Curtis and San Marcos (CA) Mission Viejo's Troy Huhn.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns offered both Huhn and Curtis on Feb. 14. Given how judicious Texas has been with the quarterback offers they've sent out each recruiting cycle under Sarkisian, there is a good chance that Huhn or Curtis will wind up committed in the Longhorns 2026 class.

Texas has only offered three quarterbacks for the 2025 recruiting cycle, including five-star LSU commit Bryce Underwood and four-star Texas commit KJ Lacey. The other quarterback the Longhorns offered in the 2025 class was someone that reclassifyed down from 2026, five-star USC commit Julian Lewis.

Both 2026 quarterbacks that Sarkisian, QB coach AJ Milwee, and the Longhorns offered this week fit the traditional mould of what you would expect in his offensive scheme. Huhn and Curtis are both quarterbacks with a ton of arm strength who can make all the throws.

Texas offer makes a big impression on Huhn

Of the two quarterbacks the Longhorns offered this week, Huhn seems to have generated the most immediate buzz. Inside Texas reported on Feb. 16 (paid content) that Huhn is planning to visit Texas this spring after he received the offer from the Longhorns a couple of days ago.

Huhn was reportedly already "proactive" in his efforts to communicate with the Texas coaches before he received the offer from the Longhorns earlier this week. So, it's not surprising that the Texas offer has made some noise in this recruitment in the last 48 hours.

He caught the attention of the Texas coaches, namely Sarkisian and Milwee, after a strong performance at the Texas Elite Camp in early June last offseason.

Milwee has a great relationship with Huhn

Sarkisian and Milwee have well-established relationships with Huhn and his family, since the communication between the two parties goes back a while before the offer being extended on Feb. 14.

Huhn reportedly "raves" about Milwee since he has the best relationship with the Texas QB coach. He still has good communication and a positive relationship with Sarkisian, but the coach that has the best connection with him is Milwee.
