With the regular season almost one month away for the opener for Texas football on Aug. 31 against the Colorado State Rams, scheduling fall visits on the recruiting trail has resumed for the next few classes. Texas will have some big visit weekends during electric SEC gamedays in the inaugural season playing in the conference this fall.

The atmosphere at DKR is sure to give the Longhorns a great buzz and energy with top recruits visiting for gamedays this fall.

One top-rated recruit from the class of 2026, five-star Reserve (LA) Saint Augustine defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart, appears to be set to visit Texas this fall for a gameday at DKR. On3's Steve Wiltfong reported on July 21 that Stewart is excited to get to campus for a gameday this fall for the Longhorns.

Stewart is specifically scheduled to visit Texas for the high stakes matchup at DKR on Oct. 19 against the Georgia Bulldogs. He said he's excited to see the atmosphere for the Texas-Georgia game this upcoming October, and that Austin "feels like home" whenever he's on campus there.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian is personally involved in this recruitment for the Longhorns. He and defensive line coach Kenny Baker keep in constant communication with the No. 1 defensive line recruit in the nation in the 2026 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking.

Texas is battling the Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, LSU Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, and USC Trojans, in the race to land the top defensive line recruit in the nation for the 2026 cycle.

LSU will be a tough school to beat in this recruitment since Stewart hails from Louisiana. Bo Davis and Brian Kelly have done a nice job recruiting Stewart since he's made multiple visits to Baton Rouge since last summer.

Along with the Texas visit, Stewart scheduled trips to see Ohio State and Oregon for gamedays this fall.
