Dorian Brew, CB

Texas has been in the mix among the top schools for the elite five-star Conroe (TX) cornerback Dorian Brew since the Longhorns made up a lot of ground in this recruitment at the start of this offseason. The Ohio State Buckeyes were considered the heavy favorite in the race to land a commitment from Brew before he had a successful unofficial trip to Texas in late January.

Ohio State and Texas have both remained in the mix among Brew's top schools he plans to officially visit this summer. LSU has also made a big push in this recruitment late this spring.

LSU is the first school that Brew and his family will officially visit this offseason, beginning May 31. It also sounds like Texas and Ohio State are in line to get official visits from Brew this June.

Depending on how his schedule stacks up for official visits next month, Brew would likely be able to be on campus to see Texas either on the second or third full weekend of June. Texas's two biggest official visit weekends begin June 14 and then June 21.

Things have gone back and forth between Texas, Ohio State, and LSU regarding which schools is the presumptive favorite in this recruitment. Brew's father ran track at LSU, so the family connection makes sense for him to end up in Baton Rouge.

Texas offers Brew a good fit at an SEC program that is close to home. Brew has connected well with Texas's defensive coaches, namely safeties coach Blake Gideon and corners coach Terry Joseph. He likes the campus and the direction of the program under Sarkisian entering the SEC this fall.

Official visits could have a big say in which school Brew ultimately ends up at late this summer, as he's expected to make a decision before the start of his senior season.
