Official visit season has arrived for Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian with a bang this week. After hosting seven official visitors from the 2025 class last weekend (from June 7-9), Texas put an exclamation point on the start of summer visits with a key defensive back commitment.

Texas football starting to build 2025 momentum after landing 3-Star CB Caleb Chester

Texas landed a commitment from three-star Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall cornerback Caleb Chester over the Texas A&M Aggies, LSU Tigers, and Arkansas Razorbacks on June 11. Chester was one of Texas's top priorities among in-state defensive backs in the 2025 class this summer.

Chester brings good length and athleticism to the Longhorns' defensive backfield in the 2025 class. He gets the ball rolling for the Longhorns with defensive back recruiting in the 2025 class amid the start of summer official visits.

After getting Chester in the boat in the 2025 class, Texas has two more big June official visit weekends to round out the summer trip circuit. The next two weekends have many more official visitors than the Longhorns had on campus last weekend too.

Here are three key 2025 recruits who could be the next to commit to the Longhorns after Chester on June 11.

John Mills, OL

The big 6-foot-5 and 290-pound San Francisco (CA) St. Ignatius College Prep interior offensive lineman John Mills is one of the top out-of-state OLs for the Longhorns in the 2025 class this summer. Mills is scheduled to officially visit Texas this weekend.

Texas looks the part of the frontrunner in this recruitment for Mills. Inside Texas reported on June 11 (paid content) that Mills and Texas offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood have talked on the phone multiple times in the last couple of weeks.

Flood and the Longhorns made a big impression on Mills when he took an unofficial visit to Austin for the first big Junior Day of the offseason on Jan. 20.

Texas is duking it out with the Washington Huskies entering his official visit to Texas from June 14-16. It helps that the Longhorns have the final official visit among the trips Mills currently has scheduled for the summer.
