Predicting Texas's next 2025 commit after CB Caleb Chester
Zion Williams, DL
For the last few months, Texas has made it crystal clear that the highly touted four-star Lufkin (TX) defensive lineman Zion Williams is one of the top priorities in the trenches in the 2025 class. Williams is easily one of the most important blue-chip in-state defensive tackles for the Longhorns in the 2025 class this summer.
Texas and new defensive line coach Kenny Baker are looking to get Williams in the boat in their 2025 class along the defensive line class with four-star Brandon Brown from Florida.
Williams was trending to LSU after having a very successful official visit to see head coach Brian Kelly and defensive line coach Bo Davis in Baton Rouge a couple of weeks ago. Multiple national analysts/reporters from the major recruiting services forecasted Williams' commitment to LSU after his May 31-June 2 official visit to Baton Rouge.
But Williams held off on a commitment decision to LSU in the last 10 days after the hype from the visit to Baton Rouge died down a bit. Texas gets a shot to swing momentum in its favor in this recruitment since Williams' final official visit in June is to Austin on the weekend of June 21.
Williams has a commitment date for July 4. He will decide between the TCU Horned Frogs, Texas A&M, LSU, and Texas, among his four finalist schools in early July.
