Caleb Chester, CB

One of the true in-state recruiting battles for 2025 on the trail between the Longhorns and Aggies is for the priority three-star Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall cornerback Caleb Chester. Horns247 reports (paid content) that Texas and Texas A&M are expected to be the two schools Chester ultimately decides between when he's ready to announce, likely at some point this summer.

Both Texas and Texas A&M have made big pushes in this recruitment since the start of this offseason.

Chester has visited each school at least once since the start of the 2024 offseason. But he's visited Texas unofficially more often than any other school in the last few months. He was most recently on campus during spring practice on April 13.

Texas and Texas A&M are two of the four schools Chester is scheduled to officially visit this summer. Here is the full official visit schedule for the top-priority cornerback recruit from the Houston-area this summer.

May 31: LSU

June 7: Texas

June 13: Texas A&M

June 21: Arkansas

Relationships with the coaches, campus/city life, and proximity to home are all important factors for Chester's recruitment. The longstanding relationship he has with Texas cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph is an advantage for the Longhorns here. It also seems like he likes the vibe in Austin and on campus at UT more than the other top schools he's visiting this summer.

The advantage Texas A&M has in this recruitment is their campus being closer to Houston.
