Predicting Texas's next 2025 commit after DL Josiah Sharma

Texas can continue the recruiting momentum into the month of August after securing a huge commitment flip from Oregon yesterday, with 4-Star DL Josiah Sharma.

One of the top 2025 priority recruits who visited Texas for the pool party/BBQ bash event yesterday was the elite five-star San Antonio (TX) Alamo Heights athlete Michael Terry.

The No. 1 athlete recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking had a great experience during his second visit to Texas in the last two months for the bash on July 25. Texas has made a very positive impression on Terry and his family each time they've visited Austin since they originally offered him back during the spring evaluation period.

After his visit for the Texas bash concluded, Terry made the trip up to Eugene to see head coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks for their big visit weekend starting July 26. Once the Oregon and Texas trips are done, Terry isn't expected to take any other visits before he announces, likely at some point in August.

This recruitment was originally expected to go well into Terry's senior season in high school. But he's moved up his decision timeline after multiple successful visits this summer to both of his top contending schools, Texas and Oregon.

Everything we've heard surrounding this recruitment in the last few days, especially in the past 12 hours or so since his trip to Texas for the bash wrapped up yesterday evening, indicates the Longhorns are in a good spot here. Unless something major changes during Terry's unofficial visit to Eugene this weekend, I would expect him to end up in Texas's class whenever he's ready to shut things down.
