Predicting Texas's next 2025 commit after S Jonah Williams
Texas football landed its highest-rated commitment in the 2025 recruiting class on Aug. 24, five-star Galveston (TX) Ball athlete/safety Jonah Williams. The No. 1 safety recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking committed to Texas over the LSU Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies, Oregon Ducks, and USC Trojans on Saturday evening.
Who could be the next blue-chip recruit to commit to Texas football in the 2025 class after 5-Star S/ATH Jonah Williams?
Head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns might not be done building momentum on the recruiting trail in late August for the 2025 class either. Texas is trending positively for a couple of other five-star recruits for this cycle who are either scheduled or expected to announce soon.
Williams was one of the big fish the Longhorns were prioritizing on the trail in the 2025 class this summer. He is a game-changing defensive back commitment who brings "freakish" athleticism and insane range on the back end of the defensive side of the ball in the secondary.
Williams isn't the only committed that the Longhorns secured in the 2025 class this week. Texas also got a priority commitment in this cycle for 2025 on Aug. 23 from the big 6-foot-7 and 360-pound four-star Loganville (GA) Grayson offensive tackle Nick Brooks.
Here's a prediction of the next 2025 recruit who will commit to the Longhorns after Williams on Aug. 24.
Jaime Ffrench, WR
Decision date: Aug. 30
The next highly-anticipated decision date for a top priority recruit who the Longhorns are heavily pursuing on the trail in the 2025 class late this summer is the elite five-star Jacksonville (FL) Mandarin wide receiver Jaime Ffrench. Texas is currently trending over the Miami Hurricanes and LSU a little under a week out from Ffrench's Aug. 30 announcement.
After Texas landed its first five-star wide receiver commitment in the 2025 class a few weeks ago, with Sachse's (TX) Kaliq Lockett jumping in the boat for this cycle, Ffrench is the next big-time target the Longhorns are looking to reel in at the position.
LSU and Miami have both thrown a lot at this recruitment for Ffrench in the past month or so. But Texas has remained the frontrunner in the race to land his commitment before the season kicks off in late August.
