Decision date: TBA

The other top five-star priority recruit the Longhorns are going after in the 2025 class entering the fall on the trail is San Antonio (TX) Alamo Heights athlete Michael Terry III. The No. 1 athlete recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking looks to be getting to the closing stages of his recruitment late this summer.

Texas is still fighting the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Oregon among Terry's three finalist schools for the elite athlete recruit from South central Texas. But it sounds like nothing has changed regarding the status for Texas as the presumed frontrunner in this recruitment for Terry entering the fall.

The Longhorns did a great job with Terry during his official visit to Austin earlier this summer. He also visited Texas for the second time in as many months for the late July pool party/BBQ bash on July 25.

Texas is working to get Terry back on campus for multiple potential gameday visits at DKR this fall, including for the regular season opener next weekend on Aug. 31 against Colorado State.

If Terry does decide he wants to announce in late August or early September, I really like Texas to be the pick over Oregon and Nebraska. Texas is the closest school to home for him and he's been to Austin more frequently than he's visited any other campus since the start of this offseason.
