Texas's top priority among the remaining uncommitted in-state recruits in the 2025 class on the trail entering the fall is the elite five-star San Antonio (TX) Alamo Heights athlete Michael Terry III. The Longhorns are high up on the list among the finalists for the No. 1 athlete recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking.

Texas continues to hold the pole position in the race to land a commitment from Terry, ahead of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Oregon Ducks, entering the fall on the recruiting trail.

Terry is looking to take multiple gameday visits this fall to see his top three finalist schools. Texas is likely going to get at least a couple of gameday visits at DKR from Terry during the regular season. Oregon and Nebraska could also get gameday visits from the elite athlete recruit from south central Texas this fall.

While visits to Oregon and Nebraska for gamedays this fall are realistically on the table for Terry, I don't know how much those will matter in the grand scheme of things in this recruitment. Terry has been trending firmly toward Texas for the last few weeks, and I don't see anything changing in that regard anytime soon.

Terry appears to be leaning to sticking closer to home with his collegiate decision. And that would obviously favor Texas over both Oregon and Nebraska whenever he's ready to announce, likely in the next month or two.
