The top out-of-state flip target at defensive tackle for the Longhorns in the 2025 class entering the fall on the recruiting trail is the highly touted four-star Port Charlotte (FL) defensive lineman and Florida State Seminoles commit Myron Charles.

The 6-foot-4 and 300-pound defensive tackle from Florida has been in communication more often with Kenny Baker and the Longhorns coaching staff in the last few weeks. Since Florida State looked very shaky in its loss to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in its ACC opener in Dublin, Ireland, during Week 0 on Aug. 23, the possibility of that class fracturing for 2025 for the Seminoles has become more likely at some point this fall.

It also makes the Longhorns' efforts on the recruiting trail to flip Charles from Florida State before signing day in early December much more realistic.

If Texas is able to flip Charles from Florida State, he would be the second blue-chip defensive tackle that the Longhorns have flipped away from another P4 school in the 2025 class since the summer. Texas also flipped four-star Folsom (CA) defensive lineman Josiah Sharma from Oregon last month.

It's noteworthy that there is a strong possibility that Texas gets Charles to campus for a gameday visit for the Georgia game in October.

Charles and fellow four-star defensive lineman Kevin Wynn are the two Florida State commits to keep an eye on that the Longhorns are trying to flip from out-of-state going into the fall on the recruiting trail.
