Predicting Texas's next 2025 commit after WR Kaliq Lockett
Jaime Ffrench, WR
Texas's top priority among the uncommitted wide receiver recruits in the 2025 class late this summer is the five-star from Florida, Ffrench. The Longhorns are locked in a battle on the recruiting trail in the race to win Ffrench's commitment when he announces on Aug. 30 with the Miami Hurricanes and LSU.
Miami has been Texas's biggest competition in this recruitment for Ffrench since the dead period arrived in late July. Ffrench took unofficial visits to Miami and LSU before the dead period arrived roughly 10 days ago.
Head coach Mario Cristobal and the Canes have thrown the kitchen sink and more at this recruitment this summer. They have not made it easy for the Longhorns to secure its spot as the frontrunner for Ffrench on the recruiting trail since summer official visits wrapped up in June.
While Miami has apparently made a very appealing offer to Ffrench a few weeks out from his late August decision date, I still like Texas's spot to get him in the boat in their 2025 class when it's all said and done for his recruitment.
Texas is still looking good to be able to get commitments from two out of the three of its top wide receiver priority recruits in the 2025 class this summer, including Lockett and Ffrench.
