Texas's top in-state priority at defensive line in the 2025 class late this summer on the recruiting trail is the touted Bellville (TX) four-star DJ Sanders. The big 6-foot-4 and 325-pound defensive lineman will decide between Michigan, Texas, and Texas A&M the day after the Longhorns got Lockett in the boat in the 2025 class, on Aug. 8.

There isn't a set announcement time for Sanders on Thursday. He's kept his recruitment pretty quiet and close to the vest this offseason. So, I would expect a decision announcement to come from him at some point tomorrow afternoon or evening on social media.

Sanders' decision looks like it will ultimately come down to the two big in-state programs, Texas and Texas A&M. Proximity to home looks like it will be too big of a factor for Michigan to realistically get Sanders' commitment when he announces at some point tomorrow.

Mike Roach of 247Sports reported on Aug. 7 (paid content) that there is at least some quiet confidence in the Texas camp in the 24 hours leading up to Sanders' decision. Texas A&M definitely still has a chance here, especially with some last-minute twists and turns.

For now, though, I think Texas has at least the slight edge to get its second defensive line commit in the 2025 class, if Sanders decides to jump in for this cycle along with Folsom (CA) four-star Josiah Sharma.
