Predicting Texas's next 2025 commitment after IOL John Mills

Texas continues to fill up the 2025 class early this summer after adding a commitment on June 24 from California 3-Star OL John Mills.

Dakorien Moore, WR

Five-star Duncanville (TX) wide receiver Dakorien Moore is one of the "must-win" recruitments for the Longhorns in the 2025 class this summer. The No. 1 wide receiver recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking had multiple successful visits to Austin in the last few months.

Moore is coming off his trip to Eugene to see head coach Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks last weekend, his final official visit of the summer. It sounds like Oregon did a great job with their pitch and presentation to Moore during his official visit over the weekend.

Oregon has been viewed as Texas's main competition in the race to land a commitment from Moore this summer. While Oregon did impress Moore and his family with another well-planned-out presentation to the elite wide receiver recruit last weekend, I think Texas still sits in the pole position in this recruitment.

The buzz surrounding this recruitment entering the dead period this summer is that Moore is looking to make a decision potentially at some point in July. We know that he wants to make a decision and have his recruitment wrapped up before his senior season begins at Duncanville.

I'd still give Texas a decisive edge among Moore's top schools over Oregon as he moves closer to a potential decision in the next few weeks.
