Texas has four main targets its focusing its efforts on for recruiting along the defensive line in the 2025 class this summer. Melbourne (FL) Eau Gallie four-star Brandon Brown and Bellville (TX) four-star DJ Sanders comprise the in-state targets/commits for the Longhorns' efforts on the recruiting trail along the defensive line in the 2025 class.

The out-of-state focus for 2025 remains on Port Charlotte (FL) four-star Myron Charles and Sacramento (CA) Folsom four-star Josiah Sharma as priority make-or-break targets for Texas's defensive line this cycle.

At the moment, it sounds like Texas has varying levels of confidence in the recruitments for both Charles and Sharma. Charles officially visited Tallahassee last weekend to see the Florida State Seminoles. Florida State built plenty of buzz during Charles' official visit a few days ago and looks to be the favorite entering a July decision.

Granted, Texas won't throw in the towel in Charles' recruitment anytime soon if he does commit to Florida State over Texas and Miami next month.

Sharma, meanwhile, is expected to announce his decision on July 1. His decision is very likely to come down to Texas and the Alabama Crimson Tide, given his relationships with the staff in Tuscaloosa (with Kalen DeBoer and Co.) dating back to their time at Washington.

Charles and Sharma both officially visited Texas in early June, during the smallest visit weekend in Austin from a quantity perspective. Texas and Kenny Baker did a great job making positive impressions and connecting with both Charles and Sharma and their families during their official visit a few weeks ago.

On Texas Football reports (premium content) Texas has had positive communication with Sharma in the last few days since his official visit to Alabama concluded last weekend. Texas reportedly has "confidence" with Sharma entering his July 1 decision date.

But this is far from being a done deal with Sharma, who still has very strong relationships with the Alabama staff. This recruitment could have more last-minute updates and shifts in the next two or three days entering his announcement on Friday.
