Texas football got the ball rolling with momentum on the recruiting trail in the 2025 class, entering summer official visits with a commitment from a three-star offensive lineman on May 13. Texas landed three-star Port Neches-Groves (TX) offensive lineman Jackson Christian over the Texas A&M Aggies to kick off this week on the recruiting trail for 2025.

Who's next for Texas football in the 2025 class after landing 3-Star OL Jackson Christian?

Christian is the first offensive linemen to commit to head coach Steve Sarkisian, OL coach Kyle Flood, and the Longhorns in the 2025 class. His commitment brings the Longhorns to seven prospects in the 2025 class.

The commitment from Christian is likely the first of many offensive linemen you could expect to see end up in the Longhorns 2025 class in the coming months. Texas is likely going to take more bodies along the offensive line in the 2025 class, since they only took three during the 2024 cycle.

With the start of official visit season approaching in a few weeks, Texas fans should gear up for more action on the recruiting trail in the 2025 class in the near future.

Here's a prediction of the next 2025 recruit to commit to the Longhorns after Christian on May 13.

Kade Phillips, S

Since early spring, the Longhorns have been a top school for the priority four-star Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Hightower safety Kade Phillips. Texas has made a major push on the recruiting trail for Phillips to be a key piece of this defensive back class for 2025.

Phillips likes what he's seen from Texas as a frequent visitor in Austin this offseason. He's visited Texas more than any other school since the start of the 2024 offseason. Most recently, Phillips visited Texas unofficially in early April during spring practice.

The physical blue-chip safety from southeast Texas told 247Sports that he loves the "environment" and how he's being prioritized by the coaching staff in his recruitment. Texas is reportedly setting the pace in this recruitment entering summer official visits.

Phillips is scheduled to officially visit Texas A&M (June 7), the LSU Tigers (June 14), and Texas (June 21) this summer. And a decision is reportedly expected from Phillips after these three official visits in June.
