Shelton Henderson, SF

Among Texas's top in-state priority recruits in the class of 2025 is the elite five-star Houston (TX) Bellaire small forward Shelton Henderson. The No. 2 recruit in Texas in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite has already visited the Longhorns once unofficially this year (back on Jan. 4).

Texas has established a presence in this recruitment as one of Henderson's top schools entering the summer visit circuit. He also likes the Houston Cougars, LSU Tigers, Duke Blue Devils, Louisville Cardinals, and Texas Tech Red Raiders among the schools he's regularly communicated with in the last few months.

Duke (Sep. 27) and Louisville (Aug. 23) are the two schools Henderson is currently scheduled to officially visit late this summer and/or early in the fall. He's also potentially looking at official visits to see Houston and Texas at some point during the fall.

Terry and staff have recruited the wing position pretty well of late. Texas not only found success with bigger guard and wing recruiting in the portal this spring, but also with their high school recruiting efforts in the 2024 class since last fall.

It sounds like we'll see Henderson start to narrow the focus of the top schools he's considering in the recruiting process later this summer. Texas has a legit shot in this recruitment, but it needs to get Henderson on campus for an official visit at some point between late August and mid-October before the Early Signing Period for the 2025 class in November.
