Predicting Texas's next commitment after WR Chris Stewart

Skill position recruiting should continue to be momentous for Texas on the trail for a couple of classes this summer for the next few weeks.

I mentioned earlier in this piece that it's worth talking about other possible commitment candidates to watch on the recruiting trail in the 2026 class this summer after Stewart pledged to UT on Tuesday night. Texas has considerable momentum on the recruiting trail in the 2026 class right now, which is a direct result of the impact of getting a quarterback the caliber of Bell in the fold.

Stewart is the type of speedy skill position recruit that Sarkisian not only wants in his offense, but also who can greatly benefit from catching passes in college from a quarterback as talented as Bell.

Skill position recruiting should remain hot for Texas in 2026 throughout the remainder of the year and on into the early part of the 2025 offseason. While there aren't any names that I'm directly expecting to jump in the 2026 class for Texas in the coming days or weeks this summer, it still wouldn't surprise me to see more skill guys want to jump in the boat with Bell and the Longhorns in the near future.

Tashard Choice and the Longhorns have really been making it known this offseason elite Forney (TX) high-four-star Javian Osborne is their top running back priority in the 2026 class. The No. 5 running back recruit in the nation in the 2026 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking loves what he's seen from Texas early in his recruitment.

Inside Texas reported earlier this month (paid content) that Texas was the first school that contacted Osborne once the contact period resumed for those in the junior high school class on June 15. It sounds like Osborne is planning to return to Texas for an unofficial visit for the late July BBQ bash event.

Osborne is the type of foundational talent that Choice and the Longhorns really want to lock in on at the skill positions in the 2026 class. Choice is a great recruiter and I have faith and confidence that he can eventually get the job done with his top targets at running back for this and future cycles, including Osborne.
