The top big man target in the portal this spring for Terry and the Longhorns is the former Oklahoma State Cowboys standout true freshman center Brandon Garrison. Texas is looking to replace some key departures in the frontcourt rotation due to transfer and exhausted eligibility this offseason, including senior big man Dylan Disu and Mitchell.

Terry and Co. are battling the likes of the rival Oklahoma Sooners and Xavier Musketeers as the top three schools in this portal recruitment early in the spring window.

As a native of Oklahoma City, OK, Garrison would still like to stay close to home after transferring from Oklahoma State following the departure of former Pokes head coach Mike Boynton. Oklahoma and head coach Porter Moser were one of Garrison's top schools before he committed to Boynton and the Pokes out of high school as an elite recruit in the 2023 class.

Garrison officially visited Oklahoma over the weekend.

Xavier and Texas have also pushed for visits from Garrison since he entered the portal last week. There has been some mentioning of the possibility that Garrison could visit Texas this weekend during the spring football game on April 20.

If Texas did get a portal commitment from Garrison, that would be a fantastic addition to start rounding out the frontcourt rotation along with fifth-year senior center Kadin Shedrick and incoming freshman power forward Nic Codie.
