Quinn Ewers trails Carson Beck and Dillon Gabriel in 2024 Heisman Trophy hunt
By Sam Fariss
The Longhorns’ offensive leader Quinn Ewers is deep in the midst of preseason Heisman Trophy conversations.
However, Oregon Ducks’ quarterback Dillon Gabriel has jumped to the front of the race, leapfrogging over Ewers and matching pace with Georgia’s Carson Beck.
FanDuel lists Ewers as the third most likely player to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy at +1000 odds.
Meanwhile, Gabriel and Beck are tied for the frontrunner spot at +750 odds a piece.
Ewers and Gabriel are not new to being in tight competition with one another. Last season, the two were in the beginning stages of Heisman Trophy candidates but there’s another connection between the two quarterbacks.
Gabriel, who transferred to Oregon this spring, played his past two seasons of college football for the Oklahoma Sooners and traded Red River Rivalry wins with Ewers.
