The SEC is poised to be the top dog on the college basketball team once again.

With Texas and Oklahoma joining the conference, Auburn and Alabama are projected to be top-five teams, and other programs are evolving into powerhouses, so the Southeastern Conference may just be unstoppable in 2024.

With many departures to and entrances from the transfer portal as well as big man Dylan Disu entering the NBA Draft, Rodney Terry’s Longhorns won’t look quite like they did in 2023.

So, without Disu battling in the paint, which big man will be at the center of Texas’ starting five?

As of now, Kadin Shedrick is expected to start in the five position. Shedrick played behind Disu throughout last season but still had great production levels and shot consistently from the field.

Heading toward the upcoming season, and the SEC, how do Shedrick and the Horns stack up against the future conference opponents?
