A busy official visit schedule for late this spring and during the summer has already kicked off for priority four-star Texas football in-state edge rusher target Smith Orogbo. The top-100-rated recruit nationally in the On3 Industry Ranking has taken two official visits of the seven he's scheduled to make this offseason.

Orogbo still has five official visits remaining on the late spring and summer docket, including one more this month. The two schools Orogbo already officially visited are the Arizona State Sun Devils (April 26) and SMU Mustangs (May 17).

Here are the five official visits that remain for the high-four-star EDGE from Houston (TX) Alief Hastings in the coming weeks/months.

May 31: Mizzou

June 7: Texas Tech

June 12: Kansas

June 14: Texas

June 21: Oklahoma

The June 14-16 official visit will be Orogbo's first return trip to Texas since his unofficial during spring ball on April 6. He enjoyed his time on campus last month, getting to see the facilities and meet many of the coaches for the first time during an in-person visit to Texas.

Orogbo has been one of Texas's top in-state EDGE priorities in the 2025 class since the start of spring ball. Texas has ascended among Orogbo's top group of schools as he's maintained consistent communication with the coaching staff, namely new defensive line coach Kenny Baker.

Horns247's Jordan Scruggs reported on May 20 (paid content) that Texas is one of the schools at the "forefront" of this recruitment amid Orogbo's official visit circuit. The three schools that are reportedly in the top group in the race to land a commitment from Orogbo are the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and Texas.

And it sounds like this recruitment could ultimately boil down to a classic battle on the trail between Texas and Oklahoma. It's not insignificant that the Longhorns and Sooners get the final two official visits from Orogbo this summer.

This recruitment is trending well for Texas. If the Longhorns knock it out of the park during Orogbo's official visit to Austin next month, it's definitely not out of the question that he could ultimately end up in Texas's 2025 class before the start of his senior season this fall.
