Shooting Guard: Chendall Weaver, Junior

Chendall Weaver's progression throughout the 2023-24 season was nothing short of astounding. The UT Arlington transfer entered the year as an energy bench player and evolved into a guy who could win the Longhorns a game with his scoring.

Weaver recently announced on Instagram that he will be returning to Texas for the 2024-25 season. This was undoubtedly the right decision for the rising junior who, despite the influx of freshman talent arriving on the Forty this summer, should be in the starting lineup next season.

Over the last 16 games of the season, Weaver averaged 9.3 PPG and 3.9 RPG with a true shooting percentage of 59.6%. His confidence continued to grow as the season progressed, something the rising junior should carry into next season.

Weaver shot just 23.7% from three last season, though I would expect that percentage to climb in 2024-25. As a freshman, Weaver shot 40.2% from deep. This past season, he was a 74% free throw shooter, proving that the stroke and consistency are there.

Given his defensive acumen and progression as a three-level scorer, I believe Chendall Weaver has a chance to be an All-SEC type of player over the next two seasons.
