Texas Basketball: Early projected starting lineup in 2024-25
By Shane Black
Center: Kadin Shedrick, Fifth-Year Senior
Following Texas' Round of 32 loss to Tennessee, Kadin Shedrick announced he would utilize his COVID year and return to the Forty Acres for one more season.
The Virginia transfer had surgeries on both shoulders last offseason and struggled to find a rhythm during his first year in Austin. Despite his injury struggles, Shedrick averaged 7.7 PPG, 3.0 RPG, and 1.1 BPG last season. He had a career game inside Madison Square Garden when he put up 27 points and seven rebounds in the Longhorns' win over Louisville.
During Dylan Disu's early season absence, Shedrick started 11 games. He is entering his sixth season in a college basketball program (four at Virginia, two at Texas) and will be a defensive anchor for Coach Terry and the Longhorns.
One of Shedrick's prime reasons for transferring to Texas was to join a team that got up and down the court so his offensive game could evolve. Look for him to be an elite rim-runner in 2024-25, surrounded by a bevy of talented guards.
