Jaime Ffrench, WR

Decision date: Aug. 30

Wide receiver recruiting will be an important storyline to follow for the Longhorns on the recruiting trail in the 2025 class with many key decisions upcoming in August. The top priority wide receiver recruit out-of-state in the 2025 class for the Longhorns who is announcing in August is the elite Jacksonville (FL) Mandarin five-star Jaime Ffrench.

Ffrench decides between the Miami Hurricanes, Tennessee Volunteers, LSU, and Texas on Aug. 30. Texas was considered the leader of the pack in Ffrench's recruitment for most of the summer. But it sounds like Miami cut into Texas's lead for Ffrench when it hosted the elite Florida native wideout recruit for an unofficial visit in Coral Gables last weekend.

Miami should be viewed as the biggest threat to Texas in the race to win this recruitment for the No. 1 wideout from Florida in the 2025 class in late August.

Kaliq Lockett, WR

Decision date: Aug. 7

Texas has been trending positively for the five-star Sachse (TX) wide receiver priority Kaliq Lockett late this summer. Since five-star Duncanville (TX) wide receiver Dakorien Moore committed to Oregon over the Longhorns in early July, Texas's chances of landing Lockett have gone way up.

Lockett's decision is probably the next big one to watch on the recruiting trail at the skill positions in the 2025 class for Texas. He'll decide between the Florida State Seminoles, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Texas on Aug. 7.

Texas still looks to be the favorite a little over one week out from Lockett's commitment date scheduled for next Wednesday.
