Texas's top portal priority at defensive back is the former Washington Huskies and Oklahoma State Cowboys two-time transfer and senior cornerback Jabbar Muhammad. The All-PAC-12 corner arrived in Austin for his multi-day visit to Texas on Jan. 17.

The Longhorns made it clear how much they want Muhammad, with Sarkisian reportedly (per TFB Texas) taking the lead during his visit to Austin in the last couple of days. We always say it's a good sign of how much Texas is prioritizing a defensive target (regardless if they're from the portal or in high school) if Sarkisian is personally involved in the recruitment.

The early returns from Muhammad's multi-day visit to Texas have been positive. It sounds like the visit was a success for Muhammad in his last 48 hours in Austin.

Since the visit concluded, Texas received an On3 RPM pick from Gerry Hamilton with moderate to high confidence (6.5 out of 10).

Texas has multiple connections in this portal recruitment. Jabbar's cousin, rising sophomore cornerback Malik Muhammad, plays for Texas. And UT is just a couple of hours down I-35 from Muhammad's hometown of Dallas, TX.

Next up on the docket for Muhammad is a visit to Tuscaloosa to see his former head coach at Washington, Kalen DeBoer, and Alabama. There has also been speculation that he will visit Eugene shortly to see head coach Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks.

It's worth watching to see if Muhammad makes it to Tuscaloosa on Jan. 19 for his visit to Alabama. If he doesn't, that's obviously a great sign for where Texas stands in this portal recruitment.
