Texas Football: 3 2025 LSU commits UT is working to flip

Before the 2025 recruiting cycle is all said and done, there's a reasonable chance that Texas football could have flipped at least one current LSU commit at a key position of need in this class.

Harlem Berry, RB

Entering the offseason, Texas's top out-of-state priorities at the running back position in the 2025 class were Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei high-four-star Jordon Davison and Metairie (LA) St. Martin's five-star Berry.

Davison was Texas's top 2025 priority at running back since the start of last offseason. Texas running backs coach Tashard Choice had his sights set on recruiting Davison really early in this cycle.

But Berry was another top target on the recruiting trail for Choice and the Longhorns in the 2025 class. Since this will likely be a two running back class for the Longhorns in the 2025 cycle, it made sense that Berry and Davison were both being heavily prioritized by this staff.

We say it often, but the type of elite talent and speed that Berry brings at the running back position is rare. He's the type of rare skill position prospect that Texas will continue to stay in contact with through the whistle on signing day.

Berry has the combination of size, speed, and overall athleticism that you won't find with another prospect in the 2025 class. He and Davison are arguably the two most gifted running back prospects in this cycle.
