Denver Broncos

Depth along the defensive line is a major priority for the Denver Broncos in the draft and potentially free agency this offseason. What the Broncos need is sustainable depth that they can build around along the defensive front, since the starters have been inconsistent over the last couple of seasons.

The Broncos do have their nose tackle locked in for the foreseeable future in D.J. Jones. But defensive tackle must be addressed if the Broncos want to improve one of the weak points of this entire side of the ball from last season.

Since the Broncos need to add both quality and depth at defensive tackle this offseason, a deep defensive line class in this draft should help them.

Sweat is one of those quality defensive tackles who could make an immediate impact on the Broncos interior defensive line as soon as this upcoming season. He has the size, power, and run-stopping ability to give the Broncos a reliable defensive tackle to bolster the two-deep and someone who can potentially be a long-term starter for their front seven.

This will be a crucial draft for the Broncos front office. They have multiple position groups to address to ensure this franchise takes a step forward in 2024. But if they find value in drafting Sweat on Day 1 or Day 2 of the draft, he would provide value at a position of need along the defensive front immediately.
