Texas Football: 3-Star Baylor DL commit visiting UT this weekend
The visitor list continues to grow for Texas football among recruits from the 2024 class for the last weekend before signing day next week. The latest official visitor added to the list among 2024 recruits for Texas this weekend is the three-star Greenville (MS) St. Joseph's defensive lineman and Baylor Bears commit Alex Foster.
Foster posted on his Twitter/X account on Dec. 14 that he will be in Austin for a visit this weekend (specifically from Dec. 15 to 17).

Defensive line coach Bo Davis and the Longhorns have pursued Foster among their flip targets along the defensive line this fall. Texas offered him in early October. On3's Gerry Hamilton reported on Dec. 14 that Texas has consistently communicated with Foster since Davis offered him on Oct. 10.
Foster visited Texas unofficially for the dominant 50-point win at DKR in the regular season finale on Nov. 24 over the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Davis also made an in-home visit and visited his high school as the Texas coaches have hit the road in the last couple of weeks. The in-home and high school visits took place on Dec. 6.
Foster is among Texas's top flip targets along the defensive line for the Longhorns to fill the final spot at the position in the 2024 class heading into signing day on Dec. 20. Davis and the Longhorns have also targeted Lexington (MS) Holmes Country Central four-star/Mississippi State Bulldogs commit Terrance Hibbler and Lafayette (LA) Acadiana five-star/Texas A&M Aggies commit Dominick McKinley among their top flip candidates along the defensive line this fall.

With Foster now scheduled to visit the Longhorns this weekend, I'd expect him to be the most likely flip target for Texas to fill that last spot along the defensive line in the 2024 class heading into the Early Signing Period next week.
Now, that's not to say that Texas still won't target McKinley on the recruiting trail if they're able to flip Foster from Baylor after the official visit this weekend. McKinley is likely a number's breaker for the Longhorns in the 2024 class. And since he is expected to wail until the late signing period in February to sign his LOI, Texas can still make a run at him on the recruiting trail after next week.
Texas was originally scheduled to make an in-home visit with McKinley this week. But that is now being pushed back to January since McKinley isn't signing until February.
