The other portal wideout visiting Texas this weekend who could impact how the Longhorns are prioritizing Bolden is the former Alabama Crimson Tide standout sophomore Isaiah Bond. When it was announced that Bond officially entered the transfer portal on Jan. 12, he immediately became Texas's top priority among wideout targets on the transfer market.

Things materialized very quickly in this portal recruitment between Bond and the Longhorns. Within roughly 24 hours of Bond entering the transfer portal late this week, he had scheduled and already arrived on campus for his visit to Austin this weekend.

It was confirmed by multiple reports (including from Horns247) on Jan. 13 that Bond had made it to campus for his visit to Texas.

The goal for Texas here will be to shut down this portal recruitment before anyone else can get involved. Bond is obviously one of the top portal players who will transfer this cycle, so Texas locking this one up early would be a massive win for this receiving corps and offense altogether.

Texas wanted to add a couple of immediate impact wideouts to replace the three starters they're losing to the NFL Draft this spring. Sarkisian and wide receivers coach Chris Jackson already added one big piece to the receiving corps via the transfer portal this cycle in the former Houston Cougars sophomore Matthew Golden.

If Texas can also add a portal commitment from Bond, they will have officially reloaded the receiving corps among the starters entering the SEC in 2024. A receiving corps that features a starting trio of Golden, Bond, and potentially rising sophomore Johntay Cook II would be extremely potent and possibly the most talented group in the SEC this year.
